Eastlake details can be found on quite a lot of Victorian home types. Some of the more fanciful Stick Style Victorians have Eastlake buttons and knobs mixed with the angular stickwork. The Palliser Company, which published many plan books during the Victorian era, referred to as stick architecture plain yet neat, fashionable, and cozy. The angular and austere style could not compete with the flamboyant Queen Annes that took America by storm. Some Stick architecture did dress up in fancy Eastlake spindles and Queen Anne prospers. However, Fowler did not really invent the concept of octagonal design.
